Therapeutic Massage: outcome-based, problem-solving, “fixing” approach; involves assessments, treatment planning, and systematic application of clinical massage techniques which include:
Deep Tissue Massage is a modality for problem areas only, not the full body. Superficial tissues are softened to access the deeper layers. Slow strokes, compression, and deep hand or arm pressure are applied to specific muscle groups.
Trigger Point Therapy can reduce pain, increase movement, and allow muscles to soften, lengthen, and become stronger. Trigger points are painful spots in the muscle tissue that radiate pain to other areas. Trigger point release technique might be a bit uncomfortable but it should not cause pain.
Neuromuscular Therapy is a type of deep tissue therapy geared to balancing the central nervous system with the musculoskeletal system. Through applied pressure on trigger points, NMT addresses postural dysfunction, injury rehabilitation, and chronic pain.
Manual Lymph Drainage: an advanced form of massage. It gently and rhythmically moves lymphatic fluid through the body, draining swollen areas, relieving pressure and enhancing the function of the immune system. MLD supports tissue regeneration including burns; stimulates faster recovery from illness, injury, and surgery; decongests sinuses and lymph nodes; reduces rheumatoid arthritis symptoms; and is used in lymphedema management.
Restorative Massage: relaxing, nurturing, intuitive, soothing approach; restores harmony and balance by releasing layers of tension and stress; increases blood circulation; improves posture and flexibility; reduces anxiety; promotes better sleep; and creates an overall sense of well-being.
